Since the inception of Owen Haskell Inc. we have maintained an affiliation with the companies below. Our goal here is to provide you with the names of professional organizations that have welcomed us into their fold because of our consistent professionalism over the last 40+ years. 

We at Owen Haskell Inc. are privileged to be a part of the following organizations.

amconThe American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM) was founded in June 1941 and is incorporated as a non-profit educational organization whose goal is to advance the sciences of surveying and mapping and related fields, in furtherance of the welfare of those who use and make maps.

The society is comprised of four independently incorporated Member Organizations which include more than 5000 surveyors, cartographers, geodesist, and other spatial data information related professionals from private industry, government, and academia throughout the world. Each member Organization serves the specific interests of their respective members, while working collectively to achieve the overall goals of ACSM.
 

msolsThe Maine Society of Land Surveyors was founded for the benefit and fellowship of Land Surveying Profession. As a forum for learning and enhancement of the profession, MSLS liasons regionally with local chapters to allow membership and representation statewide of the Land Surveying Profession.

In addition to individual enhancement, the Maine Society of Land Surveying strives to recruit, train and support student and apprentice membership. Local, state and regional scholarship funds and activities are sponsered by MSLS member dues, donations and fundraisers. MSLS monitors state legislative activity. MSLS offers periodic newletters and publications. MSLS local and state membership meet regularly throughout the year.

 

mhsolsThe New Hampshire Land Surveyors Association exists to promote the profession of surveying, mapping, land information systems and related fields to support the advancement of technologies, and to help ensure that these professional activities provide for the safety and welfare of the general public.

NHLSA members include licensed land surveyors and their employees, land information practitioners, students, and others with special interest in or knowledge of the profession of land surveying.

The Association views the surveyor as a professional who has the academic qualifications and technical expertise to practice the sciences of measuring and mapping as well as making boundary judgments; who uses this knowledge responsibly to help plan and implement the efficient management of land, waters, structures and improvements; and who takes into account legal, economic, environmental and social issues relevant to the practice.

 

masocsurMALSCE is a professional association that was organized on July 24, 1954 and was incorporated as a non-profit corporation on June 11, 1960. For more than 40 years, MALSCE has been working diligently to enhance the overall status of the land surveying and civil engineering professions.

Some of MALSCE Objectives are:

- To promote the general recognition and acceptance of the practice of Land Surveying as a profession separate and distinct from any other profession;
- To maintain and promote adherence to technical and procedural standards for the practice of Land Surveying in the Commonwealth, and the rules of professional conduct for the greater protection of the public;
- To assist in the discipline of unlicensed persons and members of the profession found to be working outside the standards of practice;
- To establish a medium for the exchange of professional knowledge and practices, and to promote continuing education; and
- To cultivate social interaction among professionals.

 

nscpNSPS is the Recognized National Face of the Surveying Profession!

NSPS provides the platform by which members can share their thoughts and opinions about our common interests through business meetings /committees, regional groups, and student chapters. It also provides a forum for input from other groups such as the National Association of County Surveyors, members of state boards of registration, and the Forum for State Surveying Society Executives.

NSPS sponsored awards include: NSPS Surveying Excellence Award, NSPS Student Projectof the Year, Excellence in Professional Journalism, State Affiliate of the year Map/Plat Competition and University Student Competition

 

wetlandMAWS is a group of environmental professionals who work and live in and around the great State of Maine. We gather to discuss changes in the regulatory climate, to offer expertise to help shape wetland related laws and regulations, and to discuss and further the appreciation of Maine wetlands and wetland ecology.

We are wetland scientists, soil scientists, environmental planners, environmental consultants, students, botanists, and environmentalists all concerned with and working in the dynamic and exciting world of wetlands. Through this site, MAWS invites you to experience and explore Maine wetlands and Maine wetland issues.

 

soilsciThe Maine Association of Professional Soil Scientists (MAPSS) was formed in 1978. The mission of MAPSS is to promote soil science through the exchange of technical, political, and regulatory information that influence and guide the profession of soil science.

Today, MAPSS is comprised of members with interdisciplinary professional backgrounds, in both the private and public sector, including soil consultants, wetland scientists, site evaluators, State and Federal government scientists and regulators, students, and others with an interest in the natural sciences.

The organization's goal is to ensure the success and promote the advancement of the soil science profession. MAPSS strives to provide guidance, education, and training to its members and the public on soil science issues of interest and concern.
